I have been invited, and plan to attend the annual conference of The Historical Novel Society. Sites alternate between the United States and the eUnited Kingdom. This year’s conference is in the UK, Oxford to be precise. This will be the first HNS conference for me, as I’m fairly new to the cloth, but not to England. During my university tenure Patti and I spent many visits in London, and we both enjoy visiting campuses. We punted on the water at Cambridge and spent an entire day walking the historic streets of Oxford.
If you are a fan of Masterpiece Theater on PBS as I am, you might have enjoyed the scenery that surrounded Inspector Lewis and his crew. It is a beautiful and historic area nd I can’t wait to revisit and enjoy the conference.
Another of my hobbies is to try to ride as many different commercial aircraft s possible. This trip will take us to London aboard the new Airbus 380, a huge, double-decker aircraft. This will be my first ride on a 380 and I’m told by friends who have already flown it that due to its size, the ride is much smoother than many other long distance aircraft.
So I might be able to squeeze one more blog post in before leaving, but due to the packed schedule probably won’t write while there.
Looking forward to letting all know how it went. Ta-Ta.
