Live from THE SMITH CENTER…..

October 1, 2013 By Andy Nixon Leave a Comment

The final chapters in my book, 50 Shades of Grades, My Journey Through Wacademia, talk about my first love, the performing arts. Eighteen months ago The Smith Center For The Performing Arts opened in Las Vegas. Within the Center are four venues; Reynolds Hall, a five-level state-of-the-art theater that offers seating for more than 2,000 patrons, Cabaret Jazz, a kitchy venue reminiscent of the New York club scene that seats 200 patrons, four to a table on the floor, and additional seating for 50 in the mezzanine above, The Troesh Studio that houses Nevada Ballet and can be configured for up to 300 patrons, and an outdoor venue that has seen circus acts as well as other outdoor events. I was fortunate enough to become part of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts when it opened. They have honored me by featuring me in the Playbill that is provided for the performance of War Horse. The article appears below (click on the image to view the full sized PDF):
